Red Barn Ranch

1890 Farmhouse; former Bulach Farm
Saint Leon, Indiana

Devoted to former owner; Aimee Wesley. Aimee is a single mom and has a full time job, daughter (Abby) 10, and raises French Bulldogs (she has quite a name for herself in this field!) Aimee’s maiden name is Kraus and Kraus Road is ONE road over from Dog Ridge (this place.) That’s some local history.
Her mother, Beth; still lives on the Kraus farm with cattle, horses, and dogs. Beth is a widow and never complains. Aimee is her only child. Aimee purchased the house in 2014 and her and her family did a LOT of work here. THANK YOU.

Knew immediately I would get along with these women. Beth pulled up with the livestock trailer to help Aimee and Abby move; we were connected at the hip. My parents always helped us move in the livestock trailer. Things farm families will understand.
A friend of mine sent me the link to this place and I didn’t give it two thoughts. I wasn’t even looking for a house. I have been happy as a lark in downtown Lawrenceburg since 2018. One Fall 2020 Saturday afternoon I was out showing properties and I drove by. Seeing this farm was being struck by a divine intervention.

I pulled in the drive and knocked on the door. Nine and a half (year old) Abby answered. Her immediate response: “My mom is not home and I am not supposed to talk to strangers.” Fair enough. I laughed.
Gave Abby my business card and said I was interested in the house. When Aimee got home Abby told her, “Mommy, SOME LADY knocked on the door and said she was going to BUY our house!”
Meeting Abby; exact moment I lost all negotiation power. From a real estate professional; this is not ideal. But. Emotional decisions are why we are alive! I feel my family in these walls. I wasn’t going to lose this house to anyone. PREVAIL.

I set up a quick showing; met Aimee, liked her (she was working here remotely); made an offer. No response. My immediate thought; (language!) “That Bitch; not even a counter offer?!” Aimee Wesley is an ASUTE lady. Now we are basically sisters.

Me to her REALTOR: “I want it; what’s her bottom line?” We got the job done. I was in the house for approximately 15-20 minutes before I made the offer. Waived the home inspection (faith always answers.) Didn’t have a pre-approval letter but knew I could make it happen. I did. Life is exciting.
I am so happy to make this my new home. Change is energizing!

Aimee just BUILT a beautiful NEW home in Kentucky and she is naming it “Chateau de Bourgeois Bouledogue”. I just spent ten minutes trying to type those words correctly. Fancy Schmancy.
In Aimee’s words; “I am not a Basic Bitch.” Me neither, darling. Me neither.

Can’t wait to see her new house this coming weekend – in her words; bougie and bulldog. I love seeing personalities in homes.

Until next time-
Sarah
